If you’re a 90s baby, you most likely grew up watching shows on networks like Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and PBS. I remember we didn’t have cable so Saturday’s were dedicated to watching shows like “Hannah Montana,” “Suite Life of Zach and Cody,” and of course my favorite of them all, “That’s So Raven.”
If you’ve never seen “That’s So Raven,” (where have you been?) here’s a brief recap to get the gist of the show. Raven is a fashionable, funny teenager who just so happens to have visions of the future. This capability allows her to stay away from troubles while also getting her into plenty of it.
Fast forward 10 years, Raven is back with her own spin-off show – “Raven’s Home.” In the sitcom, Raven and Chelsey (her best friend) are raising their children together in an apartment as they are both divorcees. Raven has twins, Booker and Nia, and Chelsey has a son named Levi. They also have a family- like neighbor – Tess who despite lives in the apartment across the hall, always finds herself at Raven’s place.
While Raven still has her visions, one of her children has them as well. This show is truly hilarious and I feel shows a great representation in the home for a single parent family dynamic. I also love that the relationship between Chelsey and Raven hasn’t changed a bit. Raven is still making impulse decisions based of her visions and Chelsey is still slow to confused on a lot. Make sure you check out this hilarious show! It airs on Disney Channel Fridays at 7 PM.
