Its been nearly a year since Ty Dolla $ign was screaming Free TC, on his debut album. While his career took off significantly, Ty Dolla $ign has been on the scene for almost 10 years.

The West Coast dread-head  not only makes good music but has writing credits from some of the most popular songs in hip hop for the past couple of years (Chris Brown’s “Loyal” Rihanna’s “FourFiveSeconds” and Omarion’s “Post to be” just to name a few).

With the Presidential election weeks away, what better title for an album than “CAMPAIGN”?

The California native gives us the same mix of rapping and singing per usual with messages and comments throughout about the upcoming candidates. Ty smoothly transitions from intimate to heartfelt and the usual west coast feels throughout the album.

What would a Ty Dolla $ign album be without the contributions of his incarcerated brother TC? NOTHING! TC features on the song “No Justice” which is one of the more powerful and thought provoking songs on the album. Future, Travis Scott and Trey Songz are among the many artists featured.

Not sure I’d call it a classic just yet, but Campaign is definitely worth checking out.
